Sail Boats
West Hills, CASummer 2025
Constructed from 2x4 frames on wheels and white tarp, these temporary forms stage a dialogue between structure and surface. They carry the suggestion of movement yet remain fixed, like images held in suspension. Set against a reimagined Hockney pool, a backdrop drawn from A Bigger Splash (1967),the boats become intermediaries between object and painting, sculpture and image, architecture and stage set. Their fragility and impermanence echo the seasonal quality of summer itself: light, fleeting, provisional.
