CMU Temple
Downtown Los Angeles, CAWinter 2025
CMU Temple is a pavilion made of four towering columns, composed of dry-stacked CMU blocks arranged in varying orientations, define the space with rhythmic solidity and lightness. A timber frame delicately rests atop the structure, supporting a corrugated polycarbonate roof. This project reinterprets common construction materials in an elemental, tectonic expression of shelter and permanence.
