arkark

arkark is a Los Angeles–based experimental design practice founded by Aryan Khalighy. Through full-scale installations, temporary structures, and spatial objects, the practice explores how familiar materials and construction systems can produce unfamiliar architectural experiences. Its work examines relationships between archetype and everyday construction, permanence and impermanence, and object and building, approaching fabrication as a form of thinking.

Aryan Khalighy is a designer and educator based in Los Angeles. He holds a Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and is a Lecturer at Cal Poly Pomona. Before founding arkark in 2023, he worked at Herzog & de Meuron in Basel on international projects. His work has been exhibited at the Chicago Architecture Biennial, and he has lectured and served as a guest critic at architecture and design institutions.
